Voices In Paradise 2018 - Workshop
Voices In paradise is the Gold Coast A Cappella Revolution and an initiative between The Blenders Chorus, Griffith University and The Arts Centre Gold Coast. Voices In Paradise is known to attract the largest a cappella audiences in all of Queensland. This youth development event is a workshop and concert combined into a one day of quality education and world class performances by the best Australia has to offer.
The Voices In Paradise singers who register for the workshop will participate in an all day singing workshop at Griffith University. They will be trained by educators Drums of War who are the 2015 national a cappella champions and Blindside 2016 national quartet champions. The workshop will take place at Griffith University, Building G40 and all participants are required to be at the venue by 9:30am to sign in and pick up their registration packs. The workshop will start at 10am. and has a reasonably tight schedule. There will be a lunch break at approximately 12.30pm and full lunch packs will be provided by VIP. There will be water facilities there but you are encouraged to bring a water bottle so you can continue to refill it during the day.
The groups will separate into male and female choirs and work on their own songs with coaching by highly qualified educators. They will work in voice parts and together to get the best sound for the songs. Choreography will be taught during these sessions and a high level of musicality and performance will be achieved for all songs. After lunch, the groups will combine and work on the mixed song and perform for one and other (this will give each group a chance to outperform the other for healthy competition). The workshop ends at 5pm followed by dinner! Lunch and dinner is free of charge for registrants. After dinner registrants are to get ready for the concert which starts at 7pm.
